earlier this week i received an instant inspiration board in my mailbox

 

tags + cards, fun graphics + single words, note cards + envelopes.

special cards pressed with my initials (swoon)

+ everything all packaged so lovely in a bag with my favorite number.

 

Tanya of Snap + Tumble offered these as limited editions, but be sure and keep an eye on her blog so you'll know when the next letterpress party is because going home without a loot bag is no fun at all.

touchy feely letterpress love @ Uppercase

when Janine announced that issue 8 of Uppercase magazine would contain a letterpress sample in the subscriber mailings i was quite excited about the prospect of receiving a special surpise within the pages. and letterpress no less.

 last evening i was able to visit Uppercase for first Thursday and to see the samples in person

i must admit it was quite overwhelming to see so many letterpress pieces together.

detailed + clever. sentimental + witty. simple + intricate.

we'd all be fighting tooth and nail to choose--thank goodness for subscriptions, it will keep the clawing and kicking to a minimum.

as difficult as it was i refrained from leafing through the current issue as i await for mine to be delivered. i have also been averting my eyes from any on-line previews. i find the content always fresh and the wait has always been worth it. of course if you have not subscribed (...yet) Janine has generously offered up a preview here.

 

p.s. Master Findley is growing like a weed and so much cuter in person {as if that was even possible, yet i sit here and type that it is}

 

soldering for virgins on-line class!

 

 

i have taken a few classes from Sally and have had her 'fix' some of my soldering after class (she makes it look so easy!)

i have been lucky to have been a guest in her lovely home on several occasions and if you ever get a chance to visit her studio you MUST go.

SO, I am quite excited that Sally is now teaching one of her classes on-line!

This is a perfect opportunity for those of us who live far away to take a class from the person who I personally feel, has in the past 10 years brought a creativity and "thinking outisde of the box" attitude to soldering  + inspired many others on this path.

Yes, you can do it--but it does take some practice + this is where I have fallen short, but I'm ready to focus a bit more time on it this year.
