a few weeks back with the Mr & P at the dog spa (otherwise known as the farm) i tackled a basement purge of epic proportions. piles that had been there for a couple of years that i obviously did not miss. useful things but not needful.
i was not sentimental about any of it.
i was flinging things into designated boxes left, right and center
i had a yard sale
i recycled
i gave things to the neighbors
+ off went 3 carloads to the thrift store
imagine if you will my disappointment when i stopped at the thrift store this morning for a 10 minute field trip.
i saw people with my purges in their shopping baskets.
i spied things tucked here and there on shelves that a few weeks previous had been hiding in my basement.
it was a tiny surreal little moment.
me? i came home empty handed.
