Gather Together:
stack of graph paper (an art supply store may carry non-standard types of graph paper used in engineering/architecture)
flash cards (1 for the cover + 1 for the back OR just 1 for the cover + a chipboard back cut to size)
screw post or binder ring
paper cutter
hole punch
Gathering a few sheets at a time cut your paper the same size as your flash cards. My flash cards were 10" x 3 1/2". I was able to use an industrial size paper cutter, but cutting several sheets at a time with a regular at home use paper cutter won't take you too long.
Round corners if desired.
Decide which corner you want to punch holes in your graph paper sheets + also your flash cards--this is where you will be fastening them.
Thread your screw punch up through the back cover, add your punched graph paper, add the cover flash card + fasten the screw punch end.
I purchased a package of 100 sheets of cross section graph paper.
This was enough paper to make 5 notebooks.
Don't forget to save the end pieces when you cut your paper strips to size--to make these pocket size jotters.
{you will need a heavy duty stapler for fastening}
When I taught grade one I used to make these for the students to write their spelling lists in. I would punch 2 holes at the top and use 2 binder rings to fasten. The binder rings allowed me to "hang" the booklets.
